Dr. Kapoor has over 30 years' medical experience, 25 Years of which have been within the fields of cardiology and internal medicine. He trained at GSVM Medical College, Kanpur University, India where he also achieved his MD in Internal Medicine and his DM in Cardiology. He also studied for a fellowship at the German Heart Institute, Berlin, Germany.

He was responsible for introducing cardiac surgery and interventional cardiology into Dubai's private sector when he was the coordinator of the Cardiology Department at Mediclinic WellCare Hospital in the late 1990s, and he is still a visiting specialist there.
